The Country Daisy Bridal Shower

This Bridal Shower was designed for one of our Galas Brides, Miss Tara Dudich, fiancé of Ron Sherratt.  I have been working closely with both Tara and Ron for several months planning their wedding, so when it came time to plan the bridal shower I knew plenty about Tara’s taste to make it just right!

Tara is a country girl at heart.  She loves daisies, primitives and anything with rustic charm.   While keeping an element of surprise to their wedding, I will say, it reflects more of Ron’s taste, which is that of a 1950’s Silver Screen era.  So Tara’s bridesmaids and I wanted their shower to really reflect Tara’s taste.

Galas wanted to find the perfect location
and I believe we did just that.  The Shower was held in Historic Fallsington at a in an old Quaker Meeting House established in 1683.

Our next challenge was refining the theme.  Our focal flower was the Gerber Daisy with lemon, willowy, and grass accents.  Our color scheme was lemon yellows, sage greens and crisp whites.  Galas also incorporated many small primitive accents to achieve this design. The invitations where designed and created by Galas and included a matching wishing well note.

The focal point of the room was the fireplace.  Galas dressed the mantle with a large black and white photo of the bride and groom surrounded by lush Pussy Willow and Forsythia branches, balanced by two glass cylinders filled with tall branchy greens and white daisies.   Beneath the mantle sat a Galas hand painted sign that read, “All because they fell in love”, with the couples wedding date and names.

Each centerpiece, hand crafted by Galas, was unique.  There where beds of wheatgrass, encased by hand painted, distressed wooden boxes and lined with white Gerbers.
Clusters of different shaped glass urns filled with wheatgrass and individual white Gerbers.

Antique milk crates filled with lemons, wheat grass, an old-fashioned milk jug, and a single white Gerber Daisy.
Topiaries of lemons, green eucalyptus, and Gerbers with wisps of wheat grass.

There where also arrangements with intermingled greens and citrus centered daisies.

For a special touch, Galas incorporated a Lemonade Station.  This station featured elegant glass pitchers filled with four beverages; Country Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Raspberry Green Tea, and Orange Tea, one of Tara’s favorites. Each pitcher was complete with fresh cut fruits.  The table was adorned with clusters of lemons and lemon branch centerpieces.

The cake was also done by Galas.  The top layer had simple sage white chocolate dots topped with a large yellow daisy.  The bottom layer was wrapped in handmade yellow and sage white chocolate daisies with a coconut base.  The center was of course Red Velvet, the bride’s favorite.

However, cake was not all Galas prepared.  Galas also served Lemon Gelatis in waffle cone bowls.  This was a big hit on such hot Spring day!

The favors where primitive tin signs that said, “Thank You”.  Each favor had a note thanking guests for sharing in Tara & Ron’s Day, tied with sage gingum fabric and green buttons.

For entertainment, the shower included two games.  The first was a personalized Newlywed Game, which proved to be very funny and entertaining.  The second was Bridal shower Bingo.  This kept guest very interested and involved while Tara opened her gifts.  Galas provided prizes that kept with the theme, such as large country signs and garden books.

This event was truly a Gala!  It was inspired by the beautiful bride and captured many different whimsical, rustic and charming accents and in the end, it came together seamlessly as every Gala does!

Congratulations,

Tara Dudich & Ron Sherratt!
